Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it’s cracked up to be. That’s why people are so cynical about it. . . . It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don’t risk anything, you risk even more. ~Erica Jong

Well, I’m finally back to online life - woo hoo! The show went sooooo well, I am so proud of everyone! For those who weren’t aware of where I went, I was stage managing and assistant directing The Laramie Project here at Wake Forest. The show was student directed (by Nick Ewen, who is the most amazing director to work with) and our cast was phenomenal!!! This was seriously the best theatre experience that I’ve ever had. Even though there were some glitches and problems, and several bumps in our way, we still had such a great time, and it was wonderful to work with a group of people so dedicated to a cause. I am very proud to have been a part of this experience, and I already miss our daily rehearsals, even though it’s only been about 3 days, LOL!

However, doing this play was soooooo draining! It was truly exhausting, and while I have no regrets about doing the show, I am worn out. I threw myself into this 110%, and now my body’s starting to catch back up with me. I really need spring break RIGHT NOW, but I guess that I’m gonna have to wait until Friday! Rehearsals for my next show (Tales of the Lost Formicans) started on Sunday. I’m acting in this one, and I LOVE my character, so I’m really excited about the whole thing! More updates on that in the future, I am sure!

I also have really great news. Today I had a phone interview for the summer job that I wanted, and I was hired on the spot!!! I’m so super excited! I will be working in Princeton, New Jersey at the American Boy Choir’s summer program, Albemarle! It’s a commitment of almost 7 weeks, so I’ll get a little time this summer before and after the job to relax at home. I’m super pumped about the whole thing - I’ll be working with kids 7-14. And I get one day a week off every week, so I get to go hang out in NYC some! Woo hoo!

Last night was Living Parables’s first performance of the semester - it went really well! It was at Prodigals, a drug rehabilitation center here in Winston-Salem, and our favorite venue! The audience was so alive, it was really great to get our show about fellowship on its feet.

I have a draft of a research paper due tomorrow, so I have some work to do tonight, but after this I’m pretty much done until after spring break! I need the vacation soooooo bad, and I’m so excited that I get to drive with 3 of my close friends to my house for some warmer weather!

I hope that everyone is doing well - sorry for such a long absence, but real life called, LOL! Have a great night/morning everyone!
