A great book should leave you with many experiences, and slightly exhausted at the end. You live several lives while reading it. ~William Styron

Yes friends, it’s true. I have fallen in love. It snuck up on me, and I really wasn’t expecting this at all, and I’m pretty excited about it!

My newest love’s name is NASCAR.

Had you goin’, didn’t I ;-)? It’s true. I’ve embraced my inner redneck and become a fan of NASCAR. It all started when I went to a race last October with a bunch of my friends. I didn’t know ANYTHING about racing at all, but we had a blast, and I knew that if given the opportunity, I’d have fun going to another race.

Then, back in February, my friends started up a NASCAR fantasty league, and I got in on it. I’m not gonna lie - I picked the drivers based on their sponsors, LOL! This turned out to be a BAD strategy, and I had to get some help from my friends to rework my team. However, it still wasn’t a top-notch team, and eventually I got tired of losing because I simply had no idea what I was doing.

So I started asking questions. LOTS of questions. And as I learned more, I became more and more interested. I decided to start playing the game. I started watching the races. I started reading the articles on websites like NASCAR.com and NASCAR on SPEED.

It’s ridiculous now. We’re religious about watching the races, we have plans to go and see one, potentially two, races before the season is over, and I have a hat for my favorite driver (Kasey Kahne, #9!!! And no, he’s not my favorite because he’s really hot, my best friend’s dad works for his team . . . though being hot does NOT hurt ;-)).

Any other NASCAR fans out there? Let me hear you!!!
