I don’t know why they don’t build the whole plane out of the same metal they use to build the little black box. ~Max Lucado, Traveling Light

It’s been a busy weekend so far! I’ve been catching up on schoolwork (it’s unbelievable how much work they have us doing), so I haven’t had a lot of time to just relax.

But this morning, I forced myself to relax. I got up well before noon (which is a feat after the week I’ve had) and fixed myself some grits to go with my morning coffee, and then I just sat at the table and ate. Ben is out of town, and Matt is still asleep, so I was all by myself, just sitting and enjoying the moment. How long has it been since I did that?

Then after about 10 minutes I had to get up and get my computer. This shows me that I’ve got something to work on. If I can’t sit for 10 minutes and do nothing, then I’ve got a problem. Do any of you experience this? How have you taught yourselves to just enjoy the moment?

Oh, and everyone should go an visit my tenant! Meredith was featured this week at the Thursday Thirteen Hub, so make sure you congratulate her!!

I completely understand the inability to sit still for 10 minutes. I have always been that way too - triple tasking during breakfast. Most of the time I’m grateful because I usually honestly do have too much to do to sit and relax. But you’re right, there has to be a way to chill for a while and have some quality “you” time. Let me know if you figure out how…

Hey lady! Just wanted to tell ya how nice it was to chat the other night…anytime…and i mean that! And it’s okay to say where Ben was instead of just ‘out of town’ ;) Hope this week is going well and maybe we can do more of sitting, talking, and doing nothing else this weekenddd
