If you can’t tell by my silence on here, this weekend’s another busy weekend! I’m at home in Florida - flew in on Wednesday, and I fly back out Sunday afternoon.

It’s amazing to me how different the weather is here at home. This is the first time I’ve been in FL during October since 2002, my freshman year, and it is most definitely not fall here, LOL! It’s not blasting hot here, but the weather is most certainly warm! I guess I didn’t realize how much we’re into fall in Winston-Salem until I got back to the land of palm trees!

Back in North Carolina, as we were driving to the airport, I noticed that all the trees were changing colors. The past month, the weather is increasingly cooler, especially when the sun isn’t out, which happens earlier in the day. Every now and then you can smell people’s fireplaces on, and it’s really nice!! It’s exciting to be able to see fall happen, especially since I’ve lived in south Georgia and north Florida all my life . . .

Now if only it keeps from getting any colder in North Carolina, LOL! My theory is that if it’s cold, it better be snowing . . . and after a couple of days in the snow I’m REALLY ready for Florida!!!

Wow, I am jealous. I keep thinking I want to go north to see the changing of the seasons. Its just that Texas is so big, you have to drive for a day just to get out of it. LOL

I bidded on renting your blog.

A fellow Floridian here, I guess that is why I decorate my house so much with Fall stuff, so it will “feel like fall” but I am sooooo waiting for that cooler weather =)

I want to visit Florida (maybe in the winter)

We have seasons here in Eastern Washington. However, we’ve been cheated on the snow for the past few years, relatively mild winters!. I’m ready for a few feet (:

The leaves are just starting to turn. So much depends on how much rain we got over the summer and how fast it cools down. Same thing for spring flowers. They disapear fast when Old Sol starts heating up in a hurry.

That is why I would never want to live in a Warm climate like Florida - it is pretty there, but I LOVE Autumn and the crisp coldness it brings in the evenings. I can’t imagine living where there isn’t a drastic change in the seasons.

When I was going to College, my girlfriends and I were walking somewhere on a chilly evening and we saw these two guys. One was breathing out really hard to see his breath, and then he’d giggle and laugh. The other one acted embarrassed and said, “Um, he grew up in Florida. He’s never seen his own breath before.”

    That astonished me.

I love Florida but it definitely gets mighty hot there. Of course Virginia Beach gets hot too. We’re enjoying some Fall like weather right now since we just had a Nor’easter blow through. Now I know it’s definitely Fall here. Time to light the fires.

When I lived in the Bay Area (California), we never really had much of a fall. One day you wuold wake up and aevery single leaf had fallen from your trees. Though the weather was much more tolerable than in Maryland (where I am from originally), I missed the four seasons. Thanks for sharing, here from the CBC>
