Updating the 101 in 1001

It’s time for an update of my 101 in 1001! I’ve actually gotten several things done lately:

My dad, my aunt, and I saw Sir Paul McCartney in concert and it was AMAZING!!!! (#11)
I went and had a fitting and did a little shopping – Atlanta has great shopping! (#14)
I filed paperwork for my LLC and became OFFICIAL – more details on that in the next month or so. (#25)
When Daddy came up for the concert he brought me more things from my parents’ house, and I’d say that aside from some childhood memento type things, I’m pretty well moved out now. (#56)
When we moved in, I totally rearranged my books so that they truly are according to the Library of Congress system. (#61)
I joined the local library! (#75)

Lots going on, hopefully I’ll actually complete the list this time around!

This important work won both the Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1956.

The Diary of Anne Frank is the stage adaptation by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett. of the book The Diary of a Young Girl, by Anne Frank. At a time when America was still raw from World War II, this brought to light a completely fresh perspective, and created a work that would compel school children for years to come.

Why am I quoting Edgar Allan Poe? For 2 reasons! First of all, today is the bicentennial of Poe’s birth. He’s one of my favorite authors, and I never grow tired of his short stories (maybe a little of his poems – I’m not much of a poetry girl). So, happy birthday Edgar Allan Poe!

The other reason is because that is exactly how I feel. Late Saturday night/Sunday morning (around 4AM) I wound up in the hospital. It was either food poisoning or a really bad case of the stomach flu (which is what they are inclined to think it was). I didn’t get sick until 10PM, but I was so dehydrated by 4AM that I had to go to the hospital. They told me that technically, an adult shouldn’t be able to get as dehydrated as I got, so it’s a good thing I went!

Anyways, I never want to feel that way again. So – “Nevermore!”

What’s a book that has helped you professionally? Theatre Management, by Stephen Langley, is one that I have used for several classes, both in undergrad (one of my majors was theatre) and in grad school (performing arts management). It contains a lot of valuable information, and I know that I will be using it a lot once I start working.
