Well, today is the Blog Tour of Homes! And, as promised, here is a tour of my home . . . or rather, my apartment ;-)!

1) Here is my front door. It’s crazy boring, because it’s an apartment complex. But, here it is anyway:

My Front Door

2) Next, my desk, where I usually blog. Though I do have a laptop, so I sometimes blog from my bed :-):

My Desk

3) Here is my living room. It’s still missing a chair (there are 2 green chairs, but one is at my parents’ house in Florida). Can you see the desk with the PC in the back on the left? That’s the home office of MagicMouth Productions - we’re still a work in progress ;-):

4) Here is my kitchen. And yes, those are my dishes in the sink. What, you thought I was gonna clean for you?!

5) Though you already saw part of my bedroom when you saw my desk, here’s another angle:

My Bed

And here are allll my books - well, all the ones in North Carolina. I have this many at home in FL too, LOL!

My

So that’s my baby little apartment, LOL! There are 2 other bedrooms for Matt and Ben, but neither of them have moved in yet, so they’re just kind of storage for me right now. Thanks for looking around my home ;-)!

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things about LINDSEY

1. Alright, so, what has been up in my life since my last good update? First I had finals . . . which were a mess. I had a ton of work to do at the end there, and I would up getting a really bad sinus infection that lasted for almost a month. Getting my work done was a NIGHTMARE. But it happened. Phew!

2. Then we immediately left for Living Parables tour. It was great except that I was sick the whole time and spent almost 2 whole days in the bed . . . sigh. But we got some good performances in, and a neat service project. Not bad for my last things with the troupe. And on the last night all the underclassmen talked about the seniors and the seniors talked about each other, and we were a mess. Correction: I was a mess. Crying everywhere. Which is pathetic, because all four of the seniors are going to be in Winston-Salem next year, so it’s not like we’re going anywhere . . .

3. Then I graduated. Which was good, haha! We had a great graduation party the day before - kind of a cookout with our families. And Daddy got a new camera before graduation, so I have lots of great pictures of everyone in caps and gowns! And a bunch of family came up to see the graduation, so it was a really great weekend.

4. The week after graduation I stayed at school and packed things up and finished my GRE course. Then on Monday I went and took the GRE, completing #19 on my 101 in 1001. I was so nervous, because the admissions committee from the grad program I applied to was waiting on the scores to make a decision, and that’s a lot to ride on a test that’s on stuff I haven’t done since high school. However, I did really well, much better than I had expected (Verbal: 580, Math: 740). So, hopefully that’s good enough to get me in!

5. In the middle of all of this I took care of wrapping up all the Parables stuff that I needed to get fixed up for the future generations. We got all the reimbursment stuff worked out (#22), I delegated someone to get the new constitution approved since they never got back to me (#24), and I got all the coordinating director stuff pulled together and passed it along (#26)!

6. I also sorted through all of my clothing at school (you know, actually trying things on to make sure they fit or not), and I got rid of a ton of stuff, definitely at least 70 things, which completes #57. And I didn’t give it to Goodwill, I’m giving it to our housekeeper. Her house burned down, and she and her husband (the other housekeeper) are having to start from scratch, and they have a baby . . . it’s a tough situation. So, I’m considering #60 to be complete, even though it’s not going to Goodwill. To me, this is more important anyway.

7. I came back home to Florida on Friday, and on Sunday was my brother’s graduation party. It’s so wierd that my little brother is graduating high school! It’s even wierder that at his party I didn’t know hardly any of the kids (keep in mind, we went to the same high school) . . . they’re just all that young. And I wasn’t at the party as a guest - I was there as an adult chaperone. It felt odd. But it went really well, so 2 points for Bo!

8. And there was the big computer crash, which is all better now. I’ve been playing catch-up ever since. I’ve had a ton of stuff to do online (my website, email correspondence, etc.) that I’ve been neglecting because of, well, all the things you just read. Anyways, I’ve been frantically working to get everything back up to speed, and I’ve still got a lot ahead of me, but I’ve done a significant chunk of it tonight.

9. The new MagicMouth Productions website is up, and I must say, it looks STUNNING. It was designed by a company called MindSmack, and they’ve done a terrific job with it. We are really pleased with how it turned out, so go check it out!

10. Also in MagicMouth news, there is an article about us in the June 2006 issue of Entrepreneur Magazine!!!! Here’s the link, but you should really check out the paper copy if you get a chance - there’s a great photo in the magazine that’s not online. June issue, page 150 ;)!

11. And our DVD is supposed to come out this week. Ben went to Charlotte to review the final copy today, but I haven’t talked to him yet to see how it went. More news on that later!

12. My 22nd birthday is coming up soon (June 7), and I’m super psyched because I get to go up north for it, including being in New York City on my birthday. We’ve got a crazy busy week planned for that, so I will fill in the details later.

13. And a quiz to round things up!

While many of you probably think I’ve fallen off of the face of the planet, I’m here to assure you that I am still alive! Our show opened and closed this past weekend, and the past 2 weeks were horribly chaotic - I didn’t sleep for most of them, didn’t go to classes, barely ate . . . blogging was the thing furthest from my mind!

The show was AMAZINGLY well! We had a near sellout audience for 3 of our 4 performances, and that fourth show had a great turnout as well. We have heard so many wonderful things about the show - we are super pumped for the next step!

For those who may not be aware, I am a part of a production company called MagicMouth Productions - we are a production company that was formed by a group of senior theatre majors at Wake Forest University (people are calling us the three amigos, haha), and we have just completed a full scale production that was written by my two partners (Matt and Ben) that couples grand illusions (think David Copperfield) with a theatrical play. It’s a genre of theatre that we’re kind of inventing here.

Our first show, Awakening, was met with great enthusiasm by the Winston-Salem community (as well as some industry people from out of town - yay future venues!). We hope to perform the show again in the next couple of months here in Winston-Salem at Stevens Center for Performing Arts (the larger theatre in town). This show was a HUGE challenge, but we loved every single minute of it, and where usually people are sad when a run is over, we’re just more excited. This has put us in an excellent position for our company to start off in the professional world. The three of us are hoping to make this company our careers.

So where does that put me personally? Incredibly exhausted and behind in my schoolwork. As exciting as all this is, I still want to graduate, so I’m not out of the rough spot yet. Also, catching up on my sleep is a goal at the moment. However, I am back online, back to the blogging world, and you WILL be seeing a Thursday Thirteen out of me this week :)! (I feel horrible, I begin hosting it and we immediately move into working our show, so I had to bail . . . but I’m back now)

Thanks for being patient with me, I can’t wait to read all my regular reads and see how everyone is doing!

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things about LINDSEY!

1. I’m going insane lately - life is so incredibly busy that I haven’t had any time to post here on my blog, and that makes me sad at myself :(. But, I’m gonna do my Thirteen this week! I apologize for not doing it last week!

2. One reason I’m super psycho busy is because of the show, which is going FABULOUSLY. It is in intense crazy hard amount of work, but we’re loving every single minute of it. If you’re within a three hour radius of Winston-Salem, NC, I HIGHLY recommend you consider coming to see the show. We were just published on the cover of ArtView Magazine, and we have 2 more magazine covers coming out in the next week or so! Tickets can be bought at our website.

3. The other main reason that I’m going crazy is because my work from the classes that I took incompletes in last semester is due on Monday, and I have a ton left. I have a make up exam on Friday, so I’m nervous about that. The rest is due by email on Monday . . . lots of prayers are what I need.

4. This weekend we’re going to Charleston, SC to see a magic show. It’s by some 18 year old kid, and while it’s not similar in concept to what we’re doing (we’re taking “magic show” a step further and creating theatre from it), we are curious to see what someone else relatively close to us in age is doing. So, that should be interesting - especially since I’ve never been to Charleston! I’m excited :).

5. Also, my best friend Stephanie came to visit this past weekend. Technically she was here for a recruiting visit for Teach for America, but she stayed at my apartment, so we got to visit some. Not as much as we wanted to, because we were both incredibly busy, but it was the first time I’d seen her since August, so that was really awesome. I miss her tons.

6. A few friends and I started a NASCAR Fantasy League on the NASCAR website. We’re so ridiculous (especially since about half of us have no clue what we’re doing, and the other half are RIDICULOUSLY intense about the whole thing . . . they REALLY know what they’re doing). It makes us smile, and that’s what’s important ;).

7. I’m not having a hard time with getting ideas for posts and things at Reading Red Letters . . . I just have NO TIME to post there. I’m barely posting here, and when I am posting, it’s little quizzes and things. I want to spend my time writing those posts, and that’s something that I haven’t had time for. If you’ve been checking over there, please don’t get discouraged - as soon as this show is over on the 26th and my midterms are over on the 27th, I’m going to start some hardcore blogging over there. Watch out ;).

8. Does anyone have any fun new recipes to share? I have a few recipes that I use over and over again because they’re quick, and I realized that I’d like some variety if anyone would like to offer me some, haha! If you send me your recipes, I’ll post them on here with a link to your site!

9. I enjoyed answering your questions before, so send me more! What do you want to know about me? What do you want to hear me talk about?

10. I auditioned for a show yesterday and got called back! It’s a great Woody Allen play called Old Saybrook. Callbacks were today, and I think they went well, so fingers crossed! The cast list is supposed to be posted by Friday night!

11. We found out our lighting designer (an off-Broadway lighting designer, so a big deal!) will be coming in half a week earlier than we thought he would. YAY!!!

12. We’re going to be the morning segment in the news in a week and a half for the local Fox News affiliate. We’re going to be doing some smaller sleight of hand tricks as well as one of our grand illusions. So watch for us if you’re local!

13. Matt and Ben almost got ticketed for hanging up flyers tonight . . . hehehehe. A cop saw them putting them up and said they were hanging them against the ordinance, but he was just going to give them a warning. Check out our blog, Ben said he was gonna post about it.
