I LOVE Christmas . . . in case you didn’t know, LOL! Decorations, carols, old Disney classics . . . I love them all. One of the best things about Christmas are the smells. Christmas trees, candy canes, baking, yum yum!
I’ve got a great set of candles from Illuminations this year . . . so great that I’ve already almost completely used them up! So I found this really neat recipe that I want to try:
Found at Recipe Zaar:
2-4 tablespoons cloves
2-4 cinnamon sticks
4 bay leaves
1/2 orange, sliced
1/2 lemon, sliced1. Add orange and lemon slices to dry mixture of spices.
2. Put in a small sauce pan with 4 cups of water.
3. Simmer on low to release the fragrance.
4. TO GIVE AS A GIFT: put ingredients in a decorative jar.
5. Add enough water to fill jar.
6. Add a few drops of red food coloring.
7. Close securely and give with a small gift tag explaining how to use it.
8. Store in refrigerator when not in use, to prevent molding.
9. Can be simmered over and over again!
10. Note, I prefer to use the lesser amount of cloves so that they don’t overwhelm the other fragrances.
If you get to it before me, let me know how it goes!!
