Theatre in 2004 (Blogathon ’09 #44)

I was fortunate enough to see Tony Award nominee for Best Musical Wicked in the last week that the original cast was there.  I adore this show.  I’ve read the book, and it was just too political for me.  But this production made me feel like a little kid again.  LOVE IT!

Mel Brooks makes his Broadway debut with Tony Award winning Best Musical The Producers.  By far the most successful of all his theatrical productions, The Producers is hilarious!

Theatre in 1966 (Blogathon ’09 #11)

Never before has the Spanish Inquisition been so entertaining as in the 1966 Tony Award winning Best Musical Man of La Mancha (OK, maybe in Mel Brooks’s History of the World: Part I)!

This musical has become a popular community theatre piece, revived all over the country.  It’s based on the 17th century novel by Miguel de Cervantes called Don Quixote.
